How to Screenshots iPhone 4

iPhone software version 2.x has a built-in screen capture function which allows you to easily take a screenshot from any application you are in. This iPhone secret is notoriously difficult to discover, but explains how everyone gets those gorgeous quality images of the iPhone to post in blogs or screenshots illustrating applications in the iTunes App Store.

An application has recently been released which will help you capture those perfect photos, and is available for owners of the iPhone and iPod Touch 4G. Photo 1-2-3 has enhanced photo taking options but with a simple to use interface. Released by California based ConglomerApps Inc. the app has a vast array of helpful tools which will allow anyone to get the most out of their mobile cameras. You will find a variety of fun photo taking settings, and time delayed capture options as well.

The Big Button option makes the cameras shot button eight times its normal size so you will never miss that shot again. A photo timer allows the user to delay the shot from a quarter of a second up to six seconds.

Now with the verizon iphone 4 available is stores, there's an increasing number of ex-Android users wanting to know how to take a screenshot on their new iOS device. We all know what a nightmare it was to take a screenshot on apple ios devices. You had to download the Android SDK, enable USB Debugging, connect your Android to your computer, open DDMS, mess with Terminal, open up Screen Capture... well, you get the picture—complicated.

Amazingly simple, isn't it? To see how easy it is, check out the videos below for a demonstration on all three iOS 4 devices.

Navigate to the application, web page, or iPhone app you'd like the screen grab from so it presents the image you'd like to see captured. You can see in each of the attached images how it works from any application. If the image is one that includes text, you can even type instructions or descriptions on the screen.

Now comes the simple step which is built-in to iPhone software version 2.x and doesn't require an additional application to do screenshots. Simply press and hold the "Home" button at center bottom of the iPhone, then press and release the "Sleep" button on top right of the iPhone. This causes the iPhone to "flash" white briefly and the image is added to your "camera roll" on the phone.

Navigate to the iPhone "Camera Roll" application and you'll see the screen snapshot you just made as the last image on the roll. It's a high quality image in jpg format which you can email to yourself, so you can save it and upload to your blog or web site. The images come in handy to illustrate step-by-step instructions, as you can see here. ;-)
